Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?
Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:
Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd. Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel. Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd. Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.
We are also accepting staff applications for Global Moderators, Graphics Designers and Skin Designer.
What's going on... ?
There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?
The board is set, the pieces are in play. Whose side will you join?
Cursed that of Devils Reject. I hold the color of the moon lit bright. I seem to stand that of an average stature and run with the heritage of Arabian. Smaller boned and slender, I dance my way about the earth. The season closest in my life is my fourth and I see the world through clouded orbs.
Sample Statement: on another wild horse site Windtalker’s crania still hurt as she shook it to try and clear the hazy feeling. The ebony fringed with ivory whipcord if the femora twitched away the flies from the scrapes around her sides. Where had she gotten them? Was it possible she had fallen off the trail the mare had seen as she awoke? Painted pelt gave a shudder as hoof beats entered her thorns. An equine appeared out of the coniferous forest that lay in front of her. pine needles quivered as pine tree branches were pushed aside, enabling the horse to approach Windtalker.
Nares flared as a baritone voice rang out from a brown pinto czar. White Wolf was what he introduced himself as, the leader of this place. The place was called Everfern as the stag had mentioned it as he introduced himself. Windtalker’s deep mahogany eyes looked up to the azure atmosphere. Mountains surrounded this crater area called Everfern she deducted from her observations. Tiara was lowered to normal height so she could answer the stallion.
“I can’t remember how I got or why I am here, milord, White Wolf. My dubbance is Windtalker, and my intent I know is not to harm you or any of your herd. However, I don’t recall my purpose for being here.” the painted femora answered. Racking her brain for memories, Windtalker found nothing but the hazy feeling which she had woke up to. Cranium throbbed constantly as Windtalker stood. The hazy feeling was starting to overtake the mare as she felt dizzy at the moment, swaying side to side.
She felt certain that she would collapse from dizziness. Why can’t I remember anything? How did I even get here? I can’t recall anything but my own name and my alliance even. Windtalker thought. White Wolf didn’t seem like a threat at the moment. Swaying side to side, the painted mare started to tremble. Trying not to collapse and determined not to, she straightened up and her orbs gazed at White Wolf and his mare and colt.
History: Birth The fae was born to two unknown mysticals that abdoned her in the mystical lands. The fae was adopted by a passing fae as the flicka shivered in the cold night. The flicka was forver gracious to her as she taught the flicka everything she knew about the mystical's history. Early Days The flicka enjoyed palying with other fillies of her own age. Innocent of everything, Kalea was happy to have fun with her friends. The mare who adopted her was named Esther and allowed her to roam the Mystical relams at will. Present Kalea is alone. She has no mate and lusts for love. She currently roams the lands, a wanderer and a traveler. No one is her friend as of yet and she has no emenies yet either. Immortallity she appreicates becuase of the fact that if she finds a mate, they will live forever.
Physical Look: Her ebony and ivory pelt is a sure thing not to miss. Her height is about 16 hands tall, and is used to her advantage. Her built is light but with strong hindquarters that allow her to ran fast, and leap over barrier up to 10 feet high. Her tassels are of a mostly white color with ebony fringed in their very fibers. Her banner is the same as her mane. Two special powers inhabited the mare's bodice. Shapeshifting is one. She has the power to turn into any creature that she desires short of mystical creatures. Her other power is the pwoer of the storm. She can summon lightning and thnder at her will. This makes her a dangerous emeny. Attitude: This sweet thing is a temptress, sure and to the point. Her temper sometimes gets the best of her and her powers comes into play. Kalea can be kind, and her beauty lures stallions to her. She has no wish to kill except if the equines has killed another one of her firends. The painted mare tends to look at the world as a dangerous place for young ones, and is glad that she is immortal. The mare can never die but can get injured but not permantly. Kalea knows that someday she will find a true love that she will be faithful to. THis mystical mare loves to transform into predators, particuallly big cats and wolves. SHe most often is found in the form of a white wolf, couagr, or white Bengal tiger. Kalea loves to have power and is glad of her ablities to transform and summon storms.

The History At Birth the femme has found herself neural, A mother of Light and father of Thestral. Quite the pair eh? naw, the sire be a pushy rapist who only kept the other through force. A deep hate was set for her father Athmard even at birth. Her mother Sweet dream was another story, she loved her mother to bits. She was so kind and loving, while she could never say such a thing about her father. He unlike Sweet could never get over the fact that Raid was not a thestral, not even a dark. Pah. Ever since Raid could stand he had tryed to force darkness upon her. First through persuation and fake kindness, You know like "this is the way to be". As he soon found that didnt work he became agressive. Anger was his cure to MAKE her dark. That didnt work eather, Raid took her beating and went to her mothers side as always. Untill one day when Raid turned one Athmard could take no more. He beat her and as she felt the familer pain she was acustmed to she waited for it to stop, it didnt. He kept going untill the younge ess could stand no longer. At this point sweet could take it no longer and stepped in. Being a light she stood little to no chance of winning and soon fell dead. As Raid watched the fight end she could no longer hold onto the small bit of concousness and fell into the faint feeling. As she awoke she found the scene as it had been before. Slowly managing to rise to her flints she peared around. Not bothering to go to her dead mothers side she searched for her father. What he had done was the final straw, he would be finished. Franckly she didnt care if that ment death to her. As a bend around a groove of timber a sigh of anoyance left her. The lupes had found the weakend brute first, now all that remained was some bones and scraped umungst a crimson stain. Torn she left the site only to venture for three long years on her own. Three years of hate, no one would be aloud near her, no one would be let in. Thats was untill shortly after she turned four. Another was met, his name was Rebel. He shared the same hate and confustion as her and with that shared feeling they bonded. When he asked her to join him, for the two to become one she agreed. For several months he was her everything and the hate vanished to revail the kind femme who had once been. Sudenly and with out warning though her left. Left and never returned leaving her once again alone. Too much to bare, she had tried forgiving and it just doesnt work. Never again would she make the mistake, never again.
Physical Look A small Arabic frame of ebonite color would be the ess. Long locks fall from curved boa and wip almost touches the sod. Harks nearly always lay flat against her skull but once they arise it perfects her form. Gorgous bulk and long slendre flints make her quite eye catching. All ebonite with no white would show her true taint. The opticals are as dark as her from a distance, but one who is close can see they are really a deep brown. Attitude Aha here is where the fun begins. The femme is one thats filled with an everlasting hate. Too much has gone wronge in her short life, too much to be forgiven. Stubborn and cocky the smal ess can get on most others nerves, it takes amazing pateince to put up with her. To say more she is very untrusting and desides hate unpon sight. That hate can vanish as it has once in the past, but do anything to lose that trust and pay. A tempter that flares more the sun is a dangerous thing, yet somtimes one can overestimate themselves. Raid seams to belive she is immortal or somthing with the way she wil mouth off to anyone. A good fighter? not really but she belives in her self very very much. Mostly the femme is mixed up with everything, at one point she thought she had it figured out.. but she found out she was wrong.

upon birth a name was given; drift
it stayed that way forever; male
the sky was tempest-tost like me; white w/black nose=technically grey.
and i had chosen my path; neutral
it was not without its troubles; deaf
for i fell so many times; (this is not Drifteh's, it is from another RPG. And it's baddd.):
Gently, I oversaw my land with secretly prying occuli, shifting through the dizzying supporting beams of that beating solaris that hung passive-aggressively in the azure yonder above my reach. Rarely had I before ventured away from my residing lands to the pleasantries of the ennoble Equus, but visits had become more frequent. I had become in need of a confidant; an ally in the strong form of the word instead of the kind that everyone so loftly sailed around through word of mouth. The wretches that came to the inner claiming grounds frightened me for jarring ideals were nevertheless tossed around. “I am not a toy. I am a rogue.”
The premise of these firm-rooted thoughts that always reassuringly stemmed in my brainpan informed me that some sort of demon possessed me, that the shattering of law was put aside for my own safety. I expelled a superficies snort, craving a break from the insanity that in turn questioned my own psychological soundness. “Mentals don’t ask themselves if they’re insane.” I much more lightheartedly confirmed this as true.
Focusing back upon my scanning of the horizon, I chanced upon a silhouette of presumably great proportions. Upon closer inspection of scent and sight as I remembered jovially I was downwind of this shape, I determined the loner was a baron- a new baron. An air of inquisitiveness and just a hint of rebellion drew me closer. Near-obsidian focals adjusted and the caesar began to strike me as some form of coincidental ally. Sensing some sort of strange connection, I realized that these symptoms were of a crazed nature. I had not yet even spoken to the via!
“Stop acting like a complete d'amned idiotic fool and introduce yourself!”
Tentatively procuring an onyx stilt onward, I subtlety tried to make my presence known to anyone who might have glanced, however not drawing attention to my chassi’s strangely open movements unfit for a noble. The target of my line of vision was such an insidious mirror but so... different. Like the gazing pools and closed ponds that were smooth and reflected a nearly symmetric form, though it was shifted; forelock on east meant a forelock on the west. Tantalizingly strange the subject was, however I despised such obscure mind games.
I trod confidently toward his hulking, pied frame so close to my image, leaving a wake of uneaten vedure spared for other such fortunate citizens. Tingling, a spinal sensation fluttered about my long. I felt his religion was the practice of not having the aforementioned. Just as I, he felt defiant- crisp and new, showing that the act of rogueship was not one of darkness, and breathing a new life into the seemingly meaningless and overused syllable. It was one of all feelings, the beings inhabiting the implied temple knowing that they could choose any path and were truly never stereotyped as others. Only neutralism came close to being complementary to rougueship, however my crafty religion still found itself in a league of its own.
All in a flutter, I knew where my inexplicable reading of personalities had originated from. I wanted all of the citizens I ruled to be loyal and just like me, and now I was beginning to read my feelings into others. I didn’t know anything about this chump. Finally, if I could rid myself of the knowingly wrong feeling that the lone ruler of a land should be forbidden to speak to possibly disgraceful newcomers, I could bring up the courage to check my instincts. Maybe I was correct, on the off chance my suspicions were lucky. It all depended on my own representation, and yet every equine played a part. Attitudes weren’t all that had to imagine.
Noisily stripping undergrowth to be parted from its roots, I took off my casual mask and finally, courageously, tilted my refined, chiseled aplex to that utterly unreachably realm of haze above and the threateningly high bleaching sun which had advanced in its westward path, though not considerably so. All this I noted without missing a glance of surveillance to the giddy newcomer. Irritating pollen wafted into readily accepting passages, and I expelled a snort of relief- certainly not the grand introduction I was hoping for. Nevertheless, I figured it would draw his recognition to me on accident, and I let a chorus waft into his scrutiny, “Hello, there. May I ask, are you new here?” It was a polite and simple inquiry- offering its receptor a choice to reply or refuse and not unnerving in any way. Letting an awkward pause permeate the still-mirthful air, I continued, “May I also inquire, who am I speaking to?” Already I would know something about my mysterious “counterpart,” or what have you, by even what order he answered me in what tones. Confident and orderly replies positive; stammering and confusion negative. Even so, forgive and forget was still my solid philosophy.
Figuring I should start the conversation mildly, casual altos uttered the syllables, “In answer to the latter, I was given the name Irondequoit. Quite a mouthful, isn’t it?” The playful and casual interrogation was meant to make the mascule feel comfortable and try to strike up an interesting volley of conversation. Traces of sarcasm were not found and each syllable was earnest and positive.
With a pointed and uneasy silence on my part, shifting pacers eased as I calmly waited for this outsider to vocalize. Questioning of insanity were nudged aside to collect cobwebs because now I knew that I was only acting true to as I felt, as cool as the wind or as boiling hot as today’s ever-present solaris.

and i remember how it always felt; (it sucks): The bracken whistled as a fierce squall sighed through it, prying fingers seperating and weaving the bare giants. Vedure-stripped decidui reverberated with the tempest. A lone, obese nymphe wandered and finally lay down, her locks thrown askew and dampened by the tormenting zeypher. This czaress was my own flesh and blood, the carrier of my infantile fetus.
Yes, my mother dearest.
I saw her gale-tampered bodice sprawled motionless on the firma as I got my unsteady footing. I suckled unsurely, and then all hope was lost. My only-known relative was dead. Another took me in, one whose dubbance is long-forgotten and has blown away with the same breeze that flew when I was born. This harlot was mourning over the loss over her own bantling. I'm sure she could have cared less for my insignifigant presence.
I can very accurately assume that my birth was unintentional, for my mother's rxpist was none found and her body was unprotected. When the lupin-scavengers finally claimed her, I had enough sense to roam elsewhere. I was truly not angry or sad that my father had left this monarch because I didn't know her persona. It was a meaningless subject, and the only remorse I ever felt was not knowing the noble steed whom had been my creator, not the insignifigant one who had held the hession's seed.
word count;; 224 ooc ;; umm... i don't consider this an outbox, so it doesn't meet requirments.
i kept wondering why they stared at me; Lanky at some points, Drift is a towering 16.8 hh with characteristics of a Shire yet enough chisled and refined pieces that he seems that of a sturdy throughbred.
yet i didn't feel so wrong after all; Drift is a liberal horse who always has justification for everything he does, which results in his feeling misunderstood. He easily gets blown up and has a rising temper. If you get on his good side, there is no such thing as an acquiantance or a true friend; when he knows you as a friend, he trusts you as much as he trusts all of his other allies.

the site had to be shut down to personal reasons..i should have it back up and running rather shortly, to those who have joined i am sorry and will be back again.
